This is a custom modded bass done by the The Memphis Guitar Spa in Memphis, TN. The Memphis Guitar Spa is a custom build shop, and we also do finish work and inlay for other well known builders. Check out our website or facebook page for more stuff! Body and neck are certified and licensed Fender. One piece maple neck. 100% hand rubbed nitrocellulose finish. Double custom tortoise binding, hand cut custom pickguard in bookmatched AAA Canadian flamed maple, antiqued milk white finish with vintage amber neck, Jason Lollar hand-wound vintage single coil p-bass pickup, Hipshot reissue Lollipop tuning machines, classy vintage flat head screws, CTS pots, Sprague Orange Drop capacitor, electrosocket jack cup, switchcraft jack, vintage heavy knurled knobs, DR high beam strings, vintage 2 barrel bridge, string through body, and nickel hardware throughout.
We have done perhaps 8 of these in the last 4 years, and have had several people ask us to do one with an arm relief. But we were loathe to give up the double tortoise binding. Well, now you can have your cake and eat it too! This is the only Fender mod we will do with this feature!!!! We are moving towards our own versions of some classics, and this is one of them, and that feature will only be on ours.
This is an amazing sounding bass, and its looks will turn heads. Jason Lollar continues to amaze. This is one of the best passive pickups I have ever heard, we've tried everything and we keep coming back to this. Even more punch than the Fralin. The AAA Canadian flamed maple pickguard features a 3 stage finish that gives it spectacular depth. It actually moves in the light. There is no way to really capture this finish with a camera even though these are professional photos. You can actually see "into" the finish because unlike factory finishes, ours is nitro, as well as applied directly to the wood and not floating on top. What a blonde looked like in Leo's days. One of our finest finishing jobs! Features original thru body strings for superior tone and sustain, but if you prefer flatwounds they sound AWESOME with this pickup. Hand cut bone nut and professional setup. This is truly a work of art!

This bass features a hand cut bone nut and professional setup. If this ships to another climate, just like any instrument you buy anywhere, it needs to acclimate to your climate before it settles in. Even though this is a factory neck, we dress and level the frets so it plays better than anything you can buy in a store. We also will do adjustments to the buyer's preference. We don't have to do this, we do it so you get the highest level of satisfaction from us. We let our instruments sit for a week so they can settle in, do another setup after that, as well as play the instruments every day to make sure they are perfect. If you favor an unusual string height or spacing, it is YOUR responsibility to take it to your local tech to do this unless you ask us ahead of time to do it for you.
