Jackson Custom Shop's double neck design is a true testament of superior design, ultimate craftsmanship, and high performance all rolled into one Heavy Metal axe. This is the kind of build that could only be achieved by Senior Master Builder Mike Shannon, and when you hold this instrument in your hands, you can tell it's something special. The precision involved, to have two necks so perfectly parallel that their headstocks are joined, is mind baffling to me, this is pure perfection. Next, the incredible painting done by veteran airbrush artist Dan Lawrence, this has to be seen in person to be fully appreciated. Each rivet has been drawn, highlighted and shadowed, along with every edge of the fuselage panels, recreating the famous P-40 aircraft. Dan then painted aging and wear, as if this craft has had its share of victorious combat without taking a single bullet hit. The finish has been done in a stunning satin finish that adds complete realism to this aircraft theme. One of my duties, here at Rainbow Guitars, is to plug in and play each instrument I post on the web. It's a tough job, but somebody has to do it, and I'm here to tell you, this guitar sounds fantastic. The 12 string / 6 string combination opened new worlds of musical expression, in fact, you can “toggle on” the 12 string neck through an amp, but play the 6 string neck, and the 12 strings sympathetically resonate and mirror what you play on the 6 string. It's a very haunting sound, especially played through our Kemper Profiler. You can also toggle both necks on, shred on the 6 string and let the 12 strings provide a resonating reverb like effect. The possibilities are endless, you could even play that one Bon Jovi song. This instrument is so incredibly special, I feel like I just played a famous guitar. Obviously, this is a unique “one off” build, it was Jackson's “Best of Show” at the 2016 NAMM show, and now it's available to the Metal masses. If you are seriously considering buying this masterpiece, I would buy it fast, before it's gone forever. - Scott
