1999 PRS McCarty Left Handed 10 Top w/ OHSC
1999 PRS McCarty Left Handed 10 Top w/ OHSC
Up until the release of the PRS McCarty model in 1995, PRS's approach to guitar building was always to improve upon the designs of the 1950s with things like locking tuners and a more modern voiced pickup. When looking for inspiration for a new model, Paul began to work with Ted McCarty, the guru who ran Gibson in their golden era from 1950 until 1966. Smith hired McCarty as a consultant, and credits his experience with McCarty as a defining moment in his company. In 1994/1995 PRS guitars released the McCarty model, a modern classic that was inspired by the classic designs of the 1950s as a tribute to Mr. Ted McCarty.
This McCarty from 1999 is a very rare early left handed example. This guitar has been upgraded with a pair of factory installed PRS P-90 pickups and it is a monster player. While the original pickups sounded pretty good in this guitar, these pickups sound amazing and will take you right back that the mid 1950s Gibson sound that has been on countless records spanning all genres of music. This guitar has been played quite a bit and it shows some wear on the back and several small dings. It has killer action thanks to a fresh pro setup and it includes its original PRS hardshell case.
