A body of stunningly chocolate and caramel looking bookmarked AAAAA Curly Claro Walnut, center stripped with curly koa and wenge.
Features a Claro neck from the same billet, with a koa center strip and rear headcap veneer.
It comes strung 14-48 with D'Addario XLs, but has an adjustable bridge and is open for experimentation.
Uses my own pickup make and wind/alnico5 magnets/~5.6KOhm, the bobbin being topped with claro/maple/cocobolo ply. It's akin to a Strat pickup somewhat, and it does well with a bit of gain in your signal chain. The magnets are recessed into the bobbin a touch, so that annoying thing where your string contacts a pole piece under heavy playing does not happen.
The pickup is potted and copper shielded, and the cavity is copper shielded as well.
The fingerboard is of curly koa, as is the pickguard. There are paua abalone dots on the fingerboard's top, and large highly visible aluminum dots along the side. Features Grover 18:1 tuners, a two-way truss rod, a very hard bison bone nut, and a string through hard tail (fully adjustable) bridge.
This body is finished in a UV cured, clear, THIN poly made for instruments by Cardinal finishes...akin to a thin lacquer...it is NOT caked on like a bar top. I used no tints or dyes.
It's a mirror gloss slick body, with mild pore sinkage here and there, to effectively appear as an old-school lacquer finish, but with better protective qualities at less toxicity and low-flammability for the applier(me).
The neck is tung oiled, and then varnished with a thin rub on poly for a natural look and feel like straight tung, with a bit better protection than just tung oil alone. The neck maintains with occasional waxing and may require or invite a re-oiling a decade or more down the line.
Price includes domestic US Ground UPS Insured shipping(signature req).
THANK YOU for looking!

***an FYI that saddle height screws are notably tall and are being replaced with shorter ones, and I will add to or redo photos shortly...camera ran out of juice before getting more angles***
