Very rare find. These are a pair of WB Will Boggs Firewater Pickups. He was one of the great up and coming boutique pickup winders in the 2000s and then fell off the face of the Earth.

Neck = 7.31K OHM
Bridge = 13.03K OHM

Chrome covers with some signs of smudge and blem.... what I would consider nicely broken in and relic'd. Bridge has 4 wire lead and is 7" long. Neck has a braided 2 wire lead that has been spliced and is 15" long. Purchased a guitar that had these in it, and it was the only reason I purchased the guitar, as I had heard so many things about WB Pickups and Will Boggs. It had reached mythical status and I wanted to check them out for myself. I have hung onto them for a few years, but have my eye on some other things, so am selling them along with some other items to raise funds.

Online Review For Firewaters:

Long story short, the WB 'Firewater' pickups seem to work really well with an all-mahogany bodied guitar. Will says he's had a number of them in PRS Standards, and that they are a great fit for those guitars. I'm guessing he's right on the money, because they are pretty amazing in that all-mahogany LP.

They are aggressive and big... hell, HUGE-sounding, but they never muddy up. I sat there for hours marveling at the fact that I could actually play rythyms on the neck pickup. And use the middle position... it sounds killer. Harmonics and overtones all over the place, and sustain, even with the volume rolled back.

So I took out the Firewater-equipped LP tonight and gave it a run through my road rig in a live situation. These pickups are fucking ridiculous... so fat and yet so smooth... just... ridiculous. At sound check, I A/B'd them with one of my LPs loaded with 67-07s and my real PAF-equipped (modded) '60 LP Junior. All 3 were just tonal nirvana - I couldn't decide which one to use as my 22-fretter for the night. (I use an LP-type guitar for about 25% of the night, and PRS for the rest.)

I decided to use the new arrival, just because I already know what the others are capable of. Holy shit. These pickups, loaded in a mahogany LP at least, are just... soulful. I was playing through my usual 2 full stacks, powered by a modded Mesa MKIV on one side, and a 100w VVT Earthquake on the other, and these things just sang... harmonics all over the place, sustain at all levels, articulation to the Nth degree.

I dunno -- Boggs just has the magic, for me at least. No one pickups can satisfy everyone's every need, but every pickup he makes seems to have a very complex, lively tone to it that just speaks to me, and inspires my playing."
