About This Listing

This Lace Helix guitar is a unique bit of craftsmanship. In the late 90's, brothers Jeff and Don Lace (Lace Sensor Pickups) decided to make a one piece ergonomic electric guitar with a neck that twisted (like the helix) away from the player at a 20% angle, thus relieving the tension the wrist has, playing, say, a barred F chord. Great idea except that they only got one good guitar out of 10 tries. Great idea but bad business. There are only a few of these around so it is definitely a collectors item. It plays very well and yes, there is a lot less bending of the wrist. I bought the guitar used in the 90's from the Lace Bros and played many gigs with it (mostly with The Kids of Widney High). Unfortunately the headstock broke in a classroom accident but the Lace Bros repaired it themselves and it plays great. I have looked high and low for another one of these and the only other one I can find sold for $2,500 so, with the repaired headstock in mind, I will start at $1,200.
If you Google Lace Helix you will find a link to RARE Lace Helix Twisted Neck for another description of the guitar.
