Serious Martin collectors know this guitar. It was only the second Limited Edition Golden Era model, closely following the D-18 GE the year before. One of only 367 made. This is the fingerpicker’s dream: a 000-sized, 12-fretter. Rosewood back and sides with a gorgeous spruce top. Forward-shifted scalloped X-bracing along with with 1/4” tone bars. Beautiful herringbone purfling.
1 and 13/16” neck with 2 and 5/16” string spacing. The slotted headstock harkens to turn-of-the-century 28-Styles, as do the Waverly open-gear tuners. The fingerboard and pyramid bridge are both of ebony, while a tasteful wood rosette completes the package. Lastly, this guitar has a gorgeous pickguard, which was available as an extra option. Limited Edition label is signed and numbered by C.F. Martin IV.

Now, as to the condition of the instrument:

Not a ding. Not a nick. Not a scratch. This is truly for the most serious Martin collector. You won’t find one nicer. Comes in the original hardshell case. I did have my luthier insert a very thin shim to raise the action ever so slightly on the original FMI saddle. If you should want it lower, the shim can be removed in a minute’s time, as this is one of the only Golden Eras to use a drop-in saddle as opposed to the glued-in long saddles on later models. This makes this guitar that much more capable of taking on a variety of tones. So, in addition to the original FMI saddle, I’ll also include a brand new FWI drop-in saddle, made for this Martin (this is the king of all saddle materials), as well as a brand new highest quality bone drop in saddle, made for the Martin, as well. You can then have a variety of tone options that you or your luthier can set to your exact specifications. The guitar, as is, plays and sounds incredible. I’m just giving you extra options, as everyone’s playing style is different.
