What we have here is a phenomenal, phenomenal amplifier and pramp set made by Bryston of Canada. This is a pair of high-quality boutique-level stereo components that are built to exacting specifications and designed with audiophiles in mind.
The Power amplifier is as simple as they come: L and R inputs that can be used as either balanced XLR / TRS or unbalanced RCA connectors, two speaker outputs, a bridged / unbridged mode for use as a 1-channel power amp, and a ground-lift. Power outputs are as follows:
*120W continuous into 8 ohms (20.8dBW) *200Wpc continuous into 4 ohms (20dBW) *400W continuous into 8 ohms in bridged mode (26dBW)
The BP20 preamp is a great marriage of high-functioning and utilitarian equipment. Input-wise this pre sports 5 RCA inputs (Aux 1, Aux 2, Tuner, CD, Video), a tape loop, and two stereo-sets of balanced XLR inputs. Output-wise, we see either unbalanced RCA output connectors, or balancex XLR connectors.
The front controls on the BP20 are stone-simple; Power and Mute switches to the left, Source/Tape and Stereo/Mono toggles to the right, and volume, source and balance pots in the middle. This unit also has the Bryston single-unit power adapter.
This is a great audiophile setup made by an excellent North American manufacturer with high quality components and care. It sounds awesome, looks sharp, and is built to do it's job for a long time.
