Emil Rittershausen (1852-1927) was a master flute and piccolo maker in Berlin, Germany, who was trained by legendary Theobald Boehm. E. Rittershausen established his own shop around 1876, and his flutes quickly became highly sought-after professional-level hand-crafted instruments, which are now rare and unique pieces of flute-making history! This particular flute is one of the original E. Rittershausen flutes produced in Berlin, Germany (not to be confused with Rittershausen-Fischer flutes that have been imported to the U.S. by Carl Fischer for the American market).

SPECIFICATIONS:

    • Professional handmade grenadilla (African blackwood) concert flute by a renown German flute maker E. Rittershausen. This flute is very rare and collectible, a true piece of history!
    • Wood is in excellent condition for a 100+ year old flute
    • Solid silver keys and mechanism
    • Pads are *BRAND NEW*, the flute has been professionally overhauled by a Straubinger-certified technician and is in pristine condition

    • Features two trill keys: B/C trill key and G/A trill key (see photos)
    • Offset G
    • Closed holes
    • French-style pointed key arms
    • C foot
    • Handmade in Berlin, Germany
