Here's a cool vintage Gibson that you don't see every day. The Melody Maker went through a few different iterations over the years but none was cooler than the iconic SG shape (and there's no cooler color for an SG than Pelham Blue). If you're a Gibson nerd you know most of these done up in Pelham Blue Metallic have natural necks so this is a bit of an oddball. Like a lot of players I started on a short-scale like this and for a while I never looked back. That was a mistake because I can't tell you how many times I've heard some amazing tones coming out of guitars like this Melody Maker. You can put some really heavy strings on them without having to fight the guitar. It's a real unique tone. Everyone wants to customize their guitar to really make it their own and on this one a previous owner spray painted the pickguard and vibrato arm gold. I think it looks pretty cool and it speaks to the guitars journey through the years. It has no breaks or repairs, just the normal weather checking lines and small nicks you'd expect to see on a well loved vintage guitar.
