Up for sale is a very cool custom
build inspired by Jerry Garcia's Wolf.
It is an 80's S.D. Curlee International
made in Japan and originally featured 2 humbuckers. It has a very long neck joint that sets all the way to the bridge, which gives it the solid sustain of a neck through with the snap of a bolt-on.
Serial number on the neck plate is
#9120046.
Here are notes from the former owner who Jerry-ized it:
"All the work was done by me. The mahogany body was sanded down and
refinished in Danish oil like the original USA versions. I left the burn
looking forearm wear mark because I liked the worn look it gave. I also filled
the grain with grain filler tinted black for that speckled look.
Frets were leveled, crowned and polished. I made a custom brass nut.
Pickups are a vintage Seymour Duncan SSL-1 in the neck and 2 vintage Dimarzio
double cream humbuckers. wired with 3 volumes and 2 toggles for the
humbuckers which switch between split coil, off and humbucker. The brass
pickguard was purchased on ebay and was made by fellow Dead fan.
Its 25 1/2 scale. 1.72" nut width. 9.5" fretboard radius. Neck
thickness is roughly .76" at the 1st fret and .94" @ 12th fret.
I have been repairing guitars for over 15 years and I'm a big Dead fan.
This guitar was purchased and customized for my personal collection. I have too
many guitars and this one doesn't get the play time it deserves."
Light weight at just over 7 lbs 10 oz.
Wolf sticker is removable, but you will want to display it proudly!
Includes gig bag.
If you are looking for a cool gig ready guitar that sounds great and won't break the bank, this could be it.
Note - I switched out knobs as pictured, which are different than the knobs shown in the video below.
Please feel free to ask questions and I'll be happy to post additional
detailed photos if needed. Check out my feedback and thanks for looking!
