This is a rare Sonor D454 spun seamless ferro manganese steel snare. My research points to this being from 1971. I also received info from a Sonor buff who thinks because of the lug design that this may be a D453 model. Either way it's a great drum with the rare, no longer made and sought after seamless spun ferromanganese shell.
What an incredible sounding drum. Wide tuning range. Sounds fat down low and cracks real nice tuned up high. Throw off and internal dampener work great. Appears to be all original (except heads).
On many occasions I chose this over my 60s Ludwig Supraphonic. Just a great sounding drum.
8 lugs 5x14 size Excellent condition
Note: the attached sound file is with absolutely no muffling. Especially when tuned down low, I typically run this with the muffler just slightly touching the batter head. I probably should've done this in the video but also thought it might be better showcase the drum tuned wide open.
