About This Listing

AMERICAN SHOWSTER

The PEACE GUITAR.

Very Rare.

1999

“Give This Peace A Chance”

American Showster is an American Guitar Story. The creation of the original model AS-57 was the creation of an American iconic guitar based on an American iconic car, the 1957 Chevrolet. That was between 1984 and 1986. During that period Kramer Guitars also became involved. The company and the product were short-lived. The second rendition of the American Showster guitar began once more in 1986. One out-another in. But this AS company lasted much longer-until 2004. And its models increased to include “The Biker” and others.

Now to the mystery American Showster guitar. I have seen it referred to as “The Peace” guitar. I will continue to use that label which is certainly fitting since its body is a “TEARDROP” style ala the VOX MARK III “Brian Jones” guitar (have a look at my other auctions to see one of those in the 50th Anniversary Limited Edition) but with “Peace” sign cutouts (filled by smoked Plexiglas). These are its specifications:

Alder Body.

Maple neck.

 Rosewood fingerboard.

 25 1/2" scale / 12" radius.

 22 medium jumbo frets.

 Schaller tuning gears.

 Schaller bar stop.

Schaller TunOMatic bridge. Great “grand piano style”.

Master volume/tone control.

A S Custom wound pickups.

Finish is Antique White.

This guitar is used but is in VERY GOOD COSMETIC CONDITION (look at yellowed spot on back of guitars and various scratches and scrapes) and EXCELLENT OPERATING CONDITION.

Comes with fitted soft side case that is original.

MORE ABOUT THIS GUITAR.

I own several American Showster guitars, but this is the only “PEACE” guitar I own. I have seen photos of this model but only this one for real. I have also read reference to more recent AS guitars having been “assembled” from “guitar parts” leftover from the 2004 closing of the company. But of course, all guitars are assembled from guitar parts so I’m not sure what that means. Regardless of its composition, it is, in my opinion, an extremely rare American Showster “Peace Guitar” and will certainly add to someone’s collection.

TRY IT OUT POLICY.

Understanding the normal hesitation of buying a guitar without first playing it, I want to make sure these guitars make you happy. To accomplish that, I want you to try them for 72 hours (three days). Play them, hold them, walk around with them on your back, sleep with then-whatever it takes for you to make sure these are the ones for you. During that time, you can return them for a full refund of your payment price (but of course they need to be treated well while you have them, as I expect you will) less shipping cost and you must pay the cost to ship it back to us.

If one arrives damaged, please let me know immediately by email. Be sure to hold onto all packing material and the box. I will contact the shipper for an inspection. Remember that this can take up to a couple of weeks, but I will rush it along.

Minor problems. If there is a problem with one of the guitars when it arrives, e.g., loose wires etc. then I will work with you to get it repaired by someone in your area.
