A medium ride of the “pre-AA” or “hollow logo” or
“stencil logo” era, which starts with Sabian’s first production around 1982 and
ends around the close of the 1980s. Today, it would be labeled an AA. At 2630 grams, this one falls right in the middle of the medium range. So it can cover almost any application.
The ink logo identifying it as a Medium is barely visible as a ghost, but you can see it in just the right light; took me years to notice it. No cracks, chips or other structural defects. Edge is smooth. Center hole looks good. Cymbal lies flat.
The bell is just over 5" across. It rises 1" vertically from the height of the edge of the bell to the height of the center hole. It rises 2" vertically from the height of the edge of the cymbal (in other words, the table top) to the height of the center hole.Audio sample recorded with a Blue Snowball mic on Setting 1, into Audacity. The mic setting in Audacity was set at 80% to prevent distortion. No mixing or EQ’ing. Vic Firth AJ1 wood-tip sticks. Headphones recommended.
