Here are the new hybrid JM/TB500 pickups. Massive magnetic substructures redirect the magnetic field up and by using a wider base, we have made a pickup that will change your guitar. In the last pictures you can see the meter on top and bottom of the ALNICO 5 slug pole PCs and how the substructure manipulates the magnetic field. The ALNICO pole PCs that are longer than the originals adding to a more unique crystal clear pickup. These are non RWRP, and to keep the single coil noise down we are using Thermax Teflon coated pure silver plated coax cable. Due to the construction these are sold in sets. But they can be made to be play well with others. I do recommend using them in a set and they are sold only in a set. If you are making a strange one off let me know and we can sort it.

Most important part, what do these sound like?

These are like nothing else with the exception of the legendary TB500 single coil. The Travis Bean sound is a clear sound at its core, so clear it almost starts to color it. These bring in a piano like tone and can be made to sound like pure hate or absolutely lovely. This is a variation on what I’ve been making for Albini, but that is only part of what they can do. They are expressive and react heavily to your playing. The steel sub plate on the bottom of the bobbin that the magnets pass through, makes the magnetic flux amplify upwards so you get a substantially wider field. Finger picking can sound almost acoustic. Hard picking can sound over driven and dirty without changing a setting. They compliment what you play by giving more head room and the ability to achieve sounds that have been reserved for only a few.
