❄️ A Holiday Gift To You ❄️

Hey audio friends, as much as it pains me, its time for this beauty to go somewhere it will be used and appreciated. This was going to be my mixing desk/side car at my new studio but its been almost a year & I have yet to make a move to a bigger space or figure out a way to integrate it into my current setup.

This is a perfect side car for anyone looking to add that classic analog sound to their studio without paying the over inflated neve & api prices.

This is a vintage ADM V1203 console loaded with:

(10)- 2783 Preamps

• Custom wound output transforms & the famous UTC-0-8 input Transfomers found in the UREI 1176)
• These modules are the same as the 2780 Preamp but with an added vca option that can be bypassed if desired. Lots of Gain & Lots of headroom.

(10) 1540- 4 Band Inductor Based Eq's
• with heavy duty/de-tented Grayhill switches - Feels like your working on a 747
• 14 selectable frequencies!
• Dual concentric- these feel and look very much like API consoles I have worked on. Such an amazing touch and click to them.

(2) 1320- Compressor/Limiter Modules -

Great Discrete Sound, described similar to neve 33609 or quad eight am2b
For the most part these are under the radar recording desk's that were built like tanks with the highest quality components. Typically only the heaviest of gearslutz know about them.  They have flown semi under the radar kinda like the sphere, quad eight/electrodyne stuff did for years until people realized they could all be Neve killers. Grammy winning producer/songwriter -Ryan Adams of Paxam studios has 6- 2780 series ADM pre's & 1540 eq's racked up amongst his cherry picked collection of vintage gear. Records also Show Muscle Shoals employed an ADM console.

Most of the ADM products were custom built for the customer. They had standard building blocks, mic input modules, Mic/Eq modules, line modules, master modules. The quality, design, and sound were right up there with any of the high end console manufacturers of the time ( API, Neve, Quad Eight, Sphere, Electrodyne, Calrec, Cadec) Because of the build quality the prices of ADM consoles were very high) Big Studios, Radio Stations, & Universities installed them for production. NBC also installed ADM consoles as they were extremely reliable and easy to maintain.

I currently have vintage neve's, quad eight, api, quantum & auditronics modules all racked up. The ADM stuff is right on par with any of those. Like a lot of consoles from the good era, many ADM consoles were parted out and racked up separate. There are still people out there who rack them and sell a pair for 1k on ebay. As I mentioned these were very expensive consoles to order. I attached a price sheet from 1980, if you do the math and take inflation into factor these were out of most peoples budget. This one has a custom desk built for it, it also easily comes out of the desk for shipping purposes.

This console had been sitting in the back of an old hollywood prop rental shop for the last 15 years before I rescued it. The seller inherited it from the previous building owner, it was never for rent & they had no power supply to test it so it sat with a plastic cover over it for years. After purchasing it I was able to source what honestly looked like 2 brand new ADM power supplies. One is for the modules and one is for the logic/lights I am told. When I powered the console up basically all the lights came on, a few are likely burnt out and also a few old caps burnt out as well( I could smell them) I am told this is typical for a console thats been sitting that long. I spoke with a professional tech and he told me not to do anything more until its been fully recapped. (This was 7 months ago)
I am not a tech, I am a songwriter and honestly the thought of learning how to read a schematic and recap this thing myself has become too daunting of a task for me. I also currently dont have the budget to hire a tech to do the work for me so I am walking away. I am sad to see this go but I will be happy when someone takes it and makes some great music on it. Its a stunning desk & someone is going to be a very happy camper when they start mixing/tracking on this.
The last one sold years ago for $10,500 and it was a later 80's version without input & output transformers on the pre's and it also had DBX gyrator type eq's (not so good) ( pictured last in my listing)   I have also attached schematics for the 2783 module and the 1540 EQ. There is a decent amount of literature out there on gearslutz as well as a few ADM guru's who know a ton about these boards.

Local Los Angeles pickup is best. I do have experience shipping high end equipment via freight with a perfect success rate(see feedback). These modules all come out and can be shipped separate to lighten the load. I assume $1,000 will be about right to ship within the US.  Cheers.
