This is the less common MADE IN JAPAN ALS 50 Love Rock, only manufactured for export to the U.S. at a time when lawsuits were concerning Japanese manufacturers. Please check Tokai registry if in doubt.
The guitar is in excellent condition except for one small dent on top right below PU switch and one slight bump on the back. 2 piece mahogany back and accurate "deep dish" carved top. Very attractive dark rosewood board. It sports a fuller neck (not a slim 60s taper, but not huge either) and powerful Michigan Authentic Reproduction - as per Tokai literature - pickups. Zebra coils under the aged nickel covers I have had installed. Previous owner installed nickel bridge and stop tail but original parts are included. A bell shaped truss rod cover is now installed but the original Tokai one is included.
It weighs a comfortable 9-ish pounds and comes with what appears to be the original hard case, also in excellent shape.
Plays effortlessly and sounds as you would expect it to. Never really played after a recent setup, but buyer may want to set it up again according to taste.
A few months back I brought this to a store as a friend wanted to test some amps with it. I got complimented by everyone working there, and when my friend compared it with a Gibson LP Traditional off the racks, there were no doubts. This is more musical, touch-sensitive, and even the neck PU has clarity and authority the G***** was only wishing for..
PRICED TO SELL BUT THERE IS A SLIGHT MARGIN FOR NEGOTIATION
