2006 Martin OMC Fingerstyle 1
This guitar is really unique. Very understated yet elegant appointments with no inlay on the ebony fingerboard, fine herringbone on the adirondack spruce top, 45 style back strip along with ivoroid binding, abalone rosette and abalone side fingerboard dots and gold Gotoh tuners.
It plays wonderfully with jumbo frets and a 1 3/4" nut. This is the only model I am aware of that Martin used Spanish Cedar for the back and sides. It looks quite similar to mahogany and sounds somewhere between mahogany and rosewood. It responds quickly to your fingers and sounds very nice. I believe Martin also chose it for this model because it sounds great when plugged in. The Fishman electronics work nicely, sound great and have a lot of flexibility.
This guitar has been enjoyed and been well taken care of - there are minor impressions around the guitar but no structural issues or anything that goes through the finish. They are primarily on the lower waste but there are also a few on the back and top. I tried to take photos with reflections to make them visible. The action is very low so the guitar plays very easily.
List for this model was $3899 so they sold for $2339 new. The original case was a Martin molded thermoplastic case. This one comes with an upgraded Brand New 500 series Martin Gieb case.
