Sekova Grecian | Late 1960's | Cherry Red Burst | RARE

Rare and cosmetically spectacular late 1960's (1968?) Sekova Grecian.
If you like funky vintage, this could be a crown jewel in your collection!

Not a lot of info on these, MIJ (likely Fujigen) and features a super unique pickup system, a "shark fin" headstock and hollow body very similar to the Kay Red Devil shape from the same era.

Cosmetically: (see the many photos for detail)
• Incredibly clean finish with vibrant Cherry Burst.

• No real dings to speak of.

• Some light scratching on the back (buckle rash area) but very minor.

• A few bumps on the edge of the headstock near the Sekova script

• A couple paint chips, one on the side of the headstock near Sekova script, one on the body above the bolt-on neck

• Binding is all intact and aged to varying cream tones

• Chrome bits like the vibrato and tailpiece have very light patina as does the double switch plate.

• Pickguard has light marks, but no cracks.

• Some checking in the finish between the horns of the body.

• New strings (D'Addario XL 10's)

Electronics:
The electronics on it are a bit of a mystery and the switches are scratchy and temperamental. Both tone pots work and one of the two volume pots is fully functional (the other not so much)

Over all it plays decent and sounds better than expected.

This guitar is nearly all original with the exception of 3 things:
• Original bridge was missing when I acquired it, and I've fitted a bridge from StewMac that I sanded to fit the arched top.

• Vibrato was missing the spring, and I've fitted from a spare I had.

• Truss rod cover was missing two screws which I replaced.

I have not tested or made any adjustments to the truss rod.

No case, but will be carefully packed and shipped.
