Electronics: Original pickups and wiring Stereo Filtertron pickups. There are three way pickup and tone selectors for both the bass side and the treble side of the pickups (upper bout). The three way selector on the treble horn selects the output configuration to two different amps using a stereo cable. The up position send the bass strings to one amp and the treble strings to the other. The middle position sends all six strings to both amps. The down position sends all six strings to one amp and mutes the other amp. The two knob on the lower bout control volume for the bass side and treble side of the pickups separately. These controls can be used to adjust the volume of the two amps individually while playing.

Cosmetic Condition: The guitar has light play wear for its age. The binding is deteriorating somewhat around the edges of the body. There are various sections of the binding around the edges of the body that have been reglued or replaced. The hardware is tarnished. The back of the headstock/wrist area has been refinished over a headstock crack repair. There is a crack on the face of the headstock overlay from the plastic shrinking. This is cosmetic and not affecting stability. One corner of the truss rod cover has broken off and is missing.

Tech Notes: -The guitar plays well with low action. The frets are small and low with light play wear. -The finish is glossy with slight "orange peel". This is probably due to a factory recall and refinish that was common on Gretsch guitars from this era. There is a faint outline of a neck dowell in the treble side of the neck heel in the cutaway. This suggests that the guitar was recalled by Gretsch and the neck was reset. The guitar would have been refinished at this time. -The wiring configuration, the sparkle binding and the padded back cover indicate this guitar is from 1960. -The label is missing from the sound hole.
