The Martin D-16H is a pre-war classic! With it's wide x-style bracing and Rosewood back and sides, this guitar offers a lot of that classic Martin tone! These guitars were were experimental models, used at guitar shows to demonstrate and test the market for reintroduction of several prewar features. These were the closest thing to a pre-war D18 available at the time, and except for the slimline neck, are very similar to a D18V, but with a little better selection of woods peghead overlay, old style stencil logo, cloth x-brace intersection reinforcement, rosewood bridge and fingerboard, Slimline neck profile, Ebony tuner buttons from the factory, simple dot position markers, one piece neck, herringbone rosette and backstrip, and tortise binding. 1 11/16" nut, and truss rod to adjust neck relief.
Note: The pick Guard has moved down about an inch from it's original spot, due to the previous owner letting it heat up overtime. To fix this, you would need to reheat it up and re-glue it back to it's original positioning.
