This battery should be replaced periodically, every 7-8 years, on your ESQ or SQ-80 synthesizer. Replacing it involves removing the original battery and soldering the new battery in place on the main board of the ESQ.The battery "backs up" the memory for sounds and sequences on the unit. You may be seeing a "BATTERY LOW" message on your instrument, but that isn't always displayed. It's just a good practice to replace every 4-5 years.
