Update!!!! Due to the multitude of people asking how much the guitar weighs.... I weighed it... 6.2 lbs!
Also.... I put strap buttons on it and the slippiest nylon cheap o strap I could find and no, it does not neck dive!!!!!!!!
Up for grabs here is an interesting guitar!
It's a USA Hamer neck set into a 67 Gibson SG body. Most of the wood work was done at BCR music in Lemoyne, PA (neck set, etc) in the mid 2000's. The paint work and final assembly was done at HEL Guitars in Mifflintown, PA. In 2009 and has remained in house since. (This guitar had been discussed before on the Hamer Fan Club)
While this guitar uses genuine parts from Hamer and Gibson, because on the nature of the modifications, it cannot be described as anything but a 1-off custom and not the work of either company.
The guitar was repainted in authentic Pelham Blue metallic (new phase, not aged) and cleared with genuine Nitrocellulose Lacquer. HEL specializes in vintage correct paint work and the guitar looks beautiful!
At some point in this body had a Hamer sustain block bridge and this was plugged at BCR. There is a slight witness line on the rear of the body in the metallic where the plug was added to cover the string ferrule holes. It has remained stable since the guitar was refinished about 6 years ago. I tried to show this as best as possible.
A strap button was added to the top horn at some point, but as I only ever used the guitar as a recording and "couch player", I have never installed buttons on it. But if I were to do so, I would probably put one back in the stock location on the back of the neck join where it is on a Gibby.
I will add strap buttons or locks of the buyers preference in the desired locations at time of sale. The bridge is a kahler HARDTAIL, NOT a trem, and is in perfect order. Two "shim" plates were used under the bridge to compensated for the neck angle needed for the sustain block.
Tuners are Grover Mini Rotos.
Two mini switches have been added to the cavity for control of the Duncan P-Rails pickups. They select the pickups for P-90/humbucker/blade modes, making the tonal options on the guitar amazing.
This guitar has been a show piece for paint work and modifications for the past 6 years and thus has never been gigged and alway stored in its case, thus the paint work is still pristine with only very light pick scratching (I've seen worse on brand new guitars in Guitar Denter)
Guitar will ship in a hardshell case.
US buyers only unless pre approved to purchase.
Shipping will be FREE in continental US
The guitar is being sold "as is", it is a cool conversation piece, and a good playing instrument. Thus, I feel the price is reasonable being that, you'll probably never see another!!!!
Edit... Man... All the views.. All the chats I've seen this guitar come up in... Shoot me an offer if your interested!
