This is our standard 5751. It is roughly 25% lower in gain than a traditional 12AX7, Stevie used these in V1 to get a cleaner tone from the preamp section to get more power tube distortion at higher volumes.
It has a very warm and even tone with tight lows, harmonically complex mids and sweet highs. The short military plate structure means that microphonics and mechanical noise are inherently low. This makes these tubes a great choice for Combo amps!
Unlike other tube venders who charge for low noise tubes, all our tubes meet rigorous tests for low noise, microphonics and nine additional tests all performed on one of our Amplitrex testers.
The JJ 5751 is also available with Current Balanced triodes for use as a phase inverter.
