Here for sale is a nicely made J.W. Gallagher & Son guitar (usually referred to simply as Gallagher). Our investigation shows that this particular model is called the Ragtime Special and was made in 1995. The playability and tone on this guitar is very nice, but there are several places where there is finish discoloration and peeling in spots as pictured. To bring this guitar back to its former glory it would need a bit of finish repair, especially where the neck meets the headstock and to some extent on the back and the sides as well. It is otherwise a lovely sounding instrument made by the long standing quality shop of J.W Gallagher & Son. Gallagher became famous when the late great flat picker Doc Watson began using his dreadnaught model. This guitar features all solid woods including Rosewood back and sides and Spruce top and has a nice decorative MOP neck inlay, gold-plated German tuning machines and inlaid headstock logo. Although structurally sound, we recognize the cosmetic issue of the peeling finish and have priced accordingly. We hope it falls into the hands of someone who will take great pride in this top-quality instrument.
Comes with a hard shell case of good quality and condition.
