Gibson J-55 Left Handed 1939 Natural

Very rare left handed first year production 1939 J-55 Gibson. There was only about 400 of these guitars made with production stopping in 1943. Solid spruce top body with mahogany back and sides. The guitar is set up and plays very well with low (8/64 E6 to 7/64 E1) action and a straight neck. The fret board is "Coffeewood" very similar to ebony. There is very light wear on the frets but it plays excellent with no buzzing. The open Kluson tuners on the staircase headstock are original. The mustache bridge has a one piece saddle. The top was professionally repaired and refinished at some point in the past with the crack repair visible below the bridge (See Pictures). The repair is very secure and smooth with only the color variation of the wood strip showing. There is also heavy finish wear on the back of the mahogany neck as pictured. Because of these issues, the guitar condition is rated as good and is being offered for thousands less than you will typically find these for sale. The guitar comes in a new Gibson USA jumbo case.
