πΆπ This groovy little electric Piano by Hohner (made by ELEX in Italy) makes up for in solid state class for what it lacks in authentic piano sounds. Featuring nearly 8-bit analog approximations of Piano, Harpsichord, Steel Guitar, Honky Tonk Piano, Hawaiian Guitar and a split bass feature that gets a big upright-esque tone with a big attack. The vibrato, which can be added to every sound, can go from subtle to straight up wacky. The keyboard has a sturdy feel with lots of character to the players touch and sits on top of another keyboard (this one has been sitting on my Roland VK-1 for a few months now) or on a stand nicely. This keyboard has a character that would have been right at home with Ray Manzarekβs Vox or Kalamazoo organs. The split bass is a very fun feature that we love for writing music - it features a separate output as well for split treble and bass amplifiers! The aluminum case of the keyboard oozes with an air of βI care about how my gear looksβ in a way that red paint just canβt do while laughing in the face of Nord-like programmability.
