Normal: mode is reminiscent of the classic saturated fuzz sound associated with the Big Muff.

BRIGHT: mode pulls a much brighter tone and make those power chords sting! 

WARM: mode is a warm, darker smooth fuzz tone.

True Bypass means that the input jack is connected directly to the output when the pedal is switched off. The sound coming in is totally unaffected by any filter or circuitry.

Well ... it's good

I made kind of a leap of faith ordering this pedal, at the price I figured there wasn't much to lose. It's a very good fuzz pedal ... and at this price I don't see how you can beat it. It's very Muff-like, and can be shaped to be darker or a bit brighter. The toggle switch provides some subtle differences, but most of the tone shaping is in the "Fuzz" and "Tone" knobs. Playing through an already bright Fender amp, I like the switch at warm or normal, diming the fuzz and tone to taste creates a pretty thick sound.
Style-wise, it's versatile little pedal. The Volume knob has to be approaching 9 o'clock before you get any volume, and then it's really loud, really quickly. Anything past Noon on the volume will likely get you over Unity Gain. Engage the pedal and hear your signal get noisy, but fuzz pedals will do that. Behaves perfectly when bypassed, no tone suck. Does alright with other pedals. Interacts well with all my guitars: single coils, humbuckers and actives.

I bougth this pedal for pure curiosity because time ago I used to own a Bif Muff Pi, but sold because of the size and space in my pedalboard, but this little pedal does the work and beyond. You can get the BMP sound efforless even get your Gimourish sound and smashing pumpkins all these without an overdrive unit before.

a very wide range of tone and massive gain..... it has nothig to envy to large companies.... you know what the people say,,, you use to pay just a brand...

The enclosure it strong, very nice finished and with a boutique appeal...

Conclusion..... BUY IT .....

CONS:...... It's a bit noise just like the ZVEX box of rock...

This is a great effects pedal. The Biyang Baby Boom Fuzz Star has a wide range of sounds available from one inexpensive stompbox. The level button gives it a crank that is unbeatable. The tone knob allows for a beafy sound or a real kick in the butt lead sound. The fuzz knob goes from a bluesy to hardcore crunch. Not to mention the extra three-way toggle!!! This little switch changes everything with the flip of a switch. The options are limitless! I am not saying that this is an amazing stompbox for the price, even though it is inexpensive. This is an amazing stompbox for any price!

This is really good-sounding, compact fuzz pedal. It seems very well made, with a toggle switch to change sounds a bit. It gives a very saturated fuzz sound, perhaps like a Big Muff. Since it's so compact, the knobs could be slightly in the way - so that when you try to turn the pedal on, your foot could turn a knob (a lot of compact pedals have this potential issue). The thing has MASSIVE amounts of gain/volume boost. I have my level set to about 9 o'clock, and it's a big volume boost right there, so normally I wouldn't need it to go higher. (I stuck a bit of masking tape under the knob to add some resistance and make it a bit stiffer to turn the knob, so I don't accidentally make someone's ears bleed.) It's true-bypass (which I confirmed with an electronic signal test). All in all, a really useful fuzz pedal.
