This Vermona Piano Strings is part of the private collection of Moby.

The Vermona Electric Piano And Strings Synthesizer was released in 1978 in the German Democratic Republic (GDR),and was sold to the UDSSR.

Like most of the string machines from this time it features a high frequency top-oscillator that is divided into 12 frequencies that make up the top octave. Each of the 12 notes is then divided down by 2:1 several times to create the different octave found on the keyboard and in the footage's of the different registers. All this is done with square waves.

These are then mixed, filtered or shaped to generate the the sound. This is just like an typical organ keyboard. There is also a built in analog chorus to build up the sound as well as a set of 8 buttons for selecting different presets. There are 4 for each section.

Serial: 199549. Powers on. Some keys are intermittent. Could use a servicing to get back up to 100%. Graded fair.
