This is a rare 1984 Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul with Gibson Explorer headstock.
The actual date is December 20th, 1984 and production number 69. 35 years old!
It’s been recently set up by a professional luthier and plays like a dream.
Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick was known to play this type of guitar as he evidently owned at one time the majority of the few produced.
This guitar is neither Rick or Aldo’s guitar and the following is Aldo's quote about ordering them.
Aldo Nova:"This is the guitar that I designed that Gibson made for me, it's a Les Paul with an explorer Headstock, there were only 12 made in the world, I have the first one still. Rick Nielsen from Cheap Trick bought all the other ones and at the show we played together in Mattawa, Canada, he asked me how much I wanted for mine, I said sorry Rick but some things are priceless. I love Rick, we had such fun times together when I opened up for Cheap Trick back. I'll always consider Rick, Robin and BunE. the dearest of friends to this day."
Please feel free to message me with any questions and please ask any and all questions before purchasing.
only slight imperfections and slight wear here and there on the back and binding etc and on included hard case. Nothing more than to be expected on a slightly used 35 year old guitar. Quite a rare piece and if not purchased to be played, to be a sound investment. The buyer is responsible for actual shipping cost including insurance. Please as for a more precise shipping quote.
Thanks for looking.
