About This Listing

Here for sale is a Redburst Prestiege offset style bass. Plays great, and has a wonderful vintage tone. Made in Japan in the 1960s by Matsumoku, the Teisco holding company.

The finish has a really nice patina to it.  Worn, but not worn out. Someone meticulously carved the "Whitesnake" logo in the forearm contour. I covered in in danish oil to protect the wood.

The sound is nice. Sort of plunky like a Hofner. Somebody lost two of the pickup poles, but replaced them with mismatched screws.  It works fine though. The original poles were just screws to begin with.

This bass is regular scale.

***This bass was bought and shipped once already, and a small crack formed where the headstock meets the neck due to mishandling from the courier. I am currently fixing the crack and will have photos to show the fix as soon as it is done! When I am done with it, the crack will be purely cosmetic, and should be structurally stronger than before. Due to this fact, however, I am selling this bass "as described."***

Over all, this is an amazing little vintage bass, and is sure to start a conversation.  OR, perfect for the world's biggest Whitesnake fan. As always, I oiled the board, polished the finish, sprayed out the electronics, changed the strings and tweaked the set up.  Comes with no bag or case.
