Only 16 of these guitars were made in 1984.  Martin's Guitar-of-the-Month series featured many varied and interesting models, but this is one of the very rare M-21 models made briefly.  Do not confuse this with the later Steve Earle M-21 model produced in collaboration with Matt Umanov.  Not related.  This one came from the original shop owner who sold the guitar, then took it back in trade a year or so later and kept it ever since.  Completely original with only a strap button installed at the correct place on the neck heel.  Original black Martin molded case is in excellent shape.

Recent neck set and new bone saddle has this jewel playing and sounding wonderful.  Big sound in this guitar with evenness across all the registers.  Finger picking or vocal accompaniment really shine with this one.

Finish is in great shape with checking evident on both the upper and lower top bouts.  It's not so bad that you can see it easily; I was not able to photograph the checks.  Guitar specs conform to any Martin 21 model with East Indian Rosewood on the back and sides.  Rosewood bridge and board.  Sitka spruce top.  Long scale with 1 11/16" original Corian nut.  Neck has a very distinct rounded profile with no hint of a "V".   Chrome enclosed tuners work as they should.  Frets are in super condition.   I don't think this guitar was played much.

Please write with any questions or requests for additional photos.  This guitar can only be sold and shipped within the United States.
