Alembic F-1X Tube Preamp

For sale today is an Alembic F-1X Tube Preamp.

This is a great preamp for bass and guitar. They sound wonderful and are considered by many the best tube preamps available for bass and guitar. I've read its circuit is like a 60s Showman.

The F-1X includes crossover, Direct Out, and an effects loop.

The only reason I am selling is because I have recently acquired an Alembic F-2B, which is a stripped-down dual channel version of this preamp.

I am not the original owner. I don't know if it's all original. One of the rack ears was accidentally bent then bent back into place. There is evidence of being racked, including scrapes. Overall, it's in really nice condition for its age.

The F-1X is the mono version of our classic F-2B preamp. We kept the same tone section and added a few goodies like a direct output, built in effects loop and crossover. You can still use it in a simple set up since the F-1X also includes a standard full range output.

Tube warmth? It's in there, and with an easy interface of Bass, Middle, Treble, you'll find it hard to make the F-1X make a bad sound. Maybe that's why Bass Player Magazine gave the F-1X its highest rating, and why you rarely see one offered on the used market.
