Up for sale is my beloved Hooper D28. The only reason I’m selling this is to make room for a new Hooper D21 shade top, built to my spec, that I’ve been waiting on for close to two years. My build is about up, and I need to make some room.
This is the most powerful new D28 I’ve played, and I’ve played Hendersons, Blazer & Henkes, Dudenbostel, you name it. All 1937 specs, which include:
Old growth red spruce top ($750 - $1000 upgrade)
Scalloped, forward shifted Sitka braces (as was done by Martin in the ‘30s)
Hide glue construction throughout
Cloth reinforcement strips
Bolivian rosewood back and sides
Ultra thin varnish finish
Old growth Honduran mahogany neck
1 3/4” nut
Ebony fretboard
Ebony bridge with through saddle
Brazilian rosewood head plate
Waverly tuners, butterbean knobs
Original Hooper branded hard case
Please send me a message if you have any questions. Thanks.
