This is not your typical SJ-200 Custom Vine. This is a Ren Ferguson custom creation.
The inlays were hand cut and engraved by Ren himself. As you can see from the photos, the level of detail on the vines is much higher than what you see on typical Custom Vine guitars from Gibson. The pearl inlays have many hand-cut engravings and accents intricately laced throughout the vine. This adds so much to beauty of this piece. These etchings and engravings take hours to do and can't be done with machines, that's why Gibson has eliminated them from the current J-200 Vines.
The pick guard features hand engraved vines and a hummingbird. Ren Ferguson's initials can be found among the engraving.
The fretboard is jet-black ebony, a large improvement over the rosewood fretboards of Gibson's current J-200 Vines. The flamed maple is amazingly figured and some of the best you can find. The top is high-quality Sitka spruce. The body is inlayed with abalone purfling on the top, back, and sides - something rarely done on Gibsons.
The build quality of this guitar is the highest of any Gibson. This is a prime example of what Gibson produced during Ren Ferguson's tenure in Bozeman.
The guitar is in excellent, near-mint condition. The only sign of use I could find is one very light impression in the top of the guitar. Aside from that, this guitar is mint. It only has extremely minor finish checking.
Included with the guitar is the original hardshell case and paperwork.
