This Kay Bass Guitar was made in the USA around 1960. This was Kay's top of the line bass. This bass shows significant play wear including dings all over but is completely solid. The bass has had a pro neck reset so the neck angle is great. At some point there was a repair by the jack and there is now a plate over the jack. I have toured with this bass and it is a road warrior. Sounds incredible and is fun to play. Very diverse/adaptable to various types of playing. It has just the right amount of warmth and body but still cuts. Bigger sounding than my Hofner but has some similarities in that it can pull off sounding like an upright bass if played in that style. Can also handle more digging in and sounds great when played with a pick. Comes with a custom made flight case from Circle Three Designs.
