About This Listing

Kalamazoo KM-11 Model Flat Top Mandolin (1935), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serial # 1493-A, sunburst top, dark back and sides finish, mahogany back, sides and neck; spruce top, rosewood fingerboard, original brown chipboard case. Overall length is 25 3/4 in. (65.4 cm.), 10 1/4 in. (26 cm.) width, and 2 1/8 in. (5.4 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 14 in. (356 mm.). Width of nut is 1 3/16 in. (30 mm.). Very clean overall-finish shows little sign of play wear. Some well-executed repairs, including a long center back crack and a very nice hand-carved solid bridge. There are two added finger braces coming off the main top brace, an extremely well executed restoration that helps support the top, which has a very small amount of sink (less than most of these). One of the nicest KM-11's we have had, intelligently restored after what is likely many years of non-use. A very good player, and super attractive little 1930's Mandolin. Overall Excellent Condition.
