Here's an opportunity to acquire a vary rare Martin. Only 15 of these Martin guitars are even in existence. This guitar's back and sides are constructed of extremely rare quilted mahogany harvested from "The Tree". I have searched high and low trying to find out what to ask for it or should I say, what its worth. I found one that sold for 12 grand and another they were asking 10 grand for...I called Martin and they really couldnt tell me much about it other than it was made in 1987. I have read a lot about "The Tree" and it is a pretty amazing story. When it all boils down to it, all I really care about is what does it sound like. This thing is a beast. It sounds more like an old 40s or 50s Gibson J45 as it has lots more low end than your typical D18. This guitar sounds killer. It is in great shape, not mint, but certainly not beat to death. It is number 14 of 15 built. It was guitar of the month back then. I have no idea what its worth but Im going to list it for less than what I have seen. Any help on the matter would be appreciated...It has a tweed Martin hardshell case and I dont know if it is original to this guitar but it is a super nice case with the Martin label on it. It plays great with nice action and sounds amazing...email with questions or any input you may have....
