Vintage 1962 Fender Jaguar Fiesta Red Museum Con Electric Guitar w/ OHSC & Candy

1-Owner From New / Completely Original / Museum Condition / Original Selmer Custom Nitro Finish / Early Slab Board / Pre CBS / B Profile Neck

Now, this is a special one indeed! Possibly the nicest example in the world! We purchased this from the son of the original owner, who bought this brand new in 1962 from Hardy's Music Store in the UK. It comes with absolutely everything the guitar originally came with, including the Selmer Hard Case, Hang-Tags (matching serial number), Catalogue (Hardy's Music Store stamped to the back), some extra Fender strings, Selmer Guitar Polish, 'Fender Lovin Care' badge and, best of all, the business card of the original owner's band! Honestly, this is by far the most special instrument we've ever had, with complete history from the moment it left the factory in California to today.

The story of the fiesta red is interesting indeed. It is clear it had been finished over the top of a Sunburst base coat a very long time ago. As I am sure you know, Selmer were renowned for ordering and importing brand new Fender guitars without hard cases, finishing in Fiesta Red over the top of the original colour, and adding their own crocodile skin cases. They were then sold brand new in the colour you now see. Fiesta Red was an extremely popular colour in this due to the legendary Hank Marvin having this colour. Therefore, this particular guitar would have left the California factory as a Sunburst (indicated by the Tortoise guard), travelled all the way to Selmer in London, UK, who would have expertly finished it in Fiesta Red, along with many others, and then sent it out, to Hardy's Music Store in Mansfield, UK. The original buyer bought it exactly as you see it today, and barely let his children even 'look' at it, never mind play it!

Completely original. Everything dates perfectly to 1962. This is most definitely one of the first Jaguars made, and possibly the first into the UK!? Firstly, the neck is dated 1st May 1962 in the correct stamp (not written), which correlates perfectly with the serial number of 79828. The two visible pot codes both say 304-6218, which would indicate, by the number 304, that these are correct 'Stackpole' pots. The next two numbers indicate the year - 62.

This guitar is in near perfect condition. There is one small ding to the front, as pictured, and a couple of extremely light marks, but really nothing significant at all! The metalwork on this guitar is really exceptional.
