About This Listing

Here we have 2 (two) Reverend All-Tone 1030 10" guitar speakers.

These are excellent speakers and very rare, no longer made. I bought a Quad and installed them in various amps in my setup. For a time, a couple were used in two different Princeton amps. Then, a pair was used in an old Vibrolux and another pair in an old Fender Super Amp. Then, the four were re-united in an old Super Reverb. Needless to say, they are broken in and ready to go after a few years of playing on them.

Why would you want these? Great question. In every application, I noticed the same few qualities when compared to stock Jensen speakers in the old Fender amps:

1.) More thrust. The magnet on these is pretty stout for a 10" speaker. They handle bass and midrange frequencies extremely well, and they made every amp sound bigger. I never heard a Princeton with that much bottom on it.

2.) Smooth highs. Some might say "dark," but I prefer smooth. If you have a blackface or silverface era Fender that is on the bright side, or if you find you run your treble knobs lower than you think, these speakers will allow you to run the Treble knob higher, allowing more bandwidth through your amp, while the speaker will simply deal with it in a very musical way.

3.) A Jensen and Celestion had a baby. Probably the most apt description I've heard. A friend of mine characterized them this way and it just really fits. You get all the mid-range that a a Celestion has, but also the bump, thrust, and clarity of bigger magnet.
