Giving home and studio electronic drummers access to the sound engine from their flagship TD-30 V-Drums, the TD-25KV V-Drums 10-Piece Electronic Drum Kit with Drum Module from Roland employs a streamlined interface that allows for swapping each drum and cymbal in your kit. The kit itself consists of a TD-25 drum module, a PDX-100 10″ snare pad, 2 PD85 8″ tom pads, a 10″ PDX-100 tom pad, a VH-11 hi-hat pad, 2 CY-12C crash cymbal pads, a CY-13R ride cymbal pad, and a KD-9 kick pad. The system can be mounted on the included MDS-9V drum stand.

The snare and tom pads all feature mesh heads for realistic playing, while the 2 cymbal pads have a variety of features including edge/bow sensors, and a natural swinging motion. The hi-hat pad mounts on a standard hi-hat stand (not included). The TD-25 drum module allows you to play along with tracks on a USB stick or your smartphone, while a USB port allows you to record audio or MIDI data to your DAW.

  Giving you 18 different drum kits in addition to a variety of reverbs and multi-effects, the TD-25 V-Drums Sound Module from Roland is based on the sound engine from their flagship TD-30 module and geared towards easily customizable sounds and playability. It features both USB and 5-pin DIN MIDI output, allowing you to record your MIDI performance to your DAW of choice. An additional USB port lets you connect a flash drive to upload songs to jam along with, or record live performances to.

Just hit a pad to call up the sound assigned to it, and then use the panel knobs to select instruments and tweak tuning, muffling, and levels. Shortcuts speed up tom editing, allowing you to assign sounds and change the muffling and tuning for all the toms at once. Your changes are saved automatically as you edit, eliminating the need to fuss with extra steps. If you don’t like your most recent tweaks, you can easily undo them and return to where the kit was when you first selected it Play Along with Recorded Tracks Want a little jamming music to play along with? Just load up a USB memory stick with favorite WAV/MP3 songs and play along. In addition to normal playback, you can loop sections you’d like to work on, or slow the playback speed to more easily learn fast fills and articulations. Alternately, you can plug a smartphone into the audio input and drum with songs from your music library or the web. It’s also possible to record your drumming performances (along with music playback) as audio files to a USB memory stick, offering a means to evaluate your playing and/or share your drumming.
