About This Listing

Otwin guitars were made in East Germany by luthier Otmar Windish - in an area where many makes of guitar were made in the forties, fifties and into the early sixties. The Otwin Sonor dates from the later fifties. Its an archtop with a single original Otwin pickup and with a seventeen inch lower bout and a body depth of three and a quarter inches. The light sunburst body is fully bound and with unusually shaped soundholes. The tailpiece is much like that of the Hofner frequensator type and the adjustable bridge is wooden.
The neck is glued in and the fretboard has 22 frets with full width fret markers. The headstock is also bound and has a black front with the ''Otwin Sonor'' logo.
Its a very rare guitar - all original and a very good player with a big sound. It comes with a nice older hardcase.
