About This Listing

For sale is my handmade fender jaguar/mustang copy (I guess you could call it that) that I built at my home workshop. Some things about this guitar:

-The body is from an old strat copy that had a black finish which I of course stripped.  I cut the wood with a jigsaw to make it an offset with jag style body.  The body was also routed for the jaguar tremolo and TOM bridge as well as the change in pickup placement and size.  The original finish was stripped.  Not quite sure what kind of wood it is either but it is extremely light.

-The new finish was done with  acrylic paint using a Jackson Pollack splatter technique over a base coat of jade green enamel gloss.  This was clear coated with polyurethane.

-The neck is a Warmoth Fender Jaguar/Mustang 24" inch scale with indian rosewood fretboard and maple neck.  10-16" inch radius. 6150 frets.

-The tuning machines are from an old epiphone les paul style guitar, however, they are still in great shape and hold tune fine. The bridge is a Grover tune-o-matic.  The guitar is equipped with Fender Jaguar tremolo assembly.  I sometimes utilize the trem arm tenaciously while playing in a style similar to Kevin Shields or Thurston Moore and it stays in tune exceptionally well.  No strings popping out of the saddle or any of the other problems you hear most Jaguar owners complain about.

Bridge pickup: Pure Vintage Fender Jaguar Pickup to '65 specs
Middle pickup: Danelectro LP1 lipstick pickup
Neck pickup: Pure Vintage Fender Jaguar Pickup to '65 specs

-1 Meg CTS pot, for master volume and CRL 5-way selector switch.  New wiring was used.   Shielded the pickup and control cavities with aluminum tape.  You won't hear any buzzing/humming/etc from this guitar.  If you do, its your amp or pedalboard.

-Input jack and exterior plate I salvaged from the old strat copy the body came from.  they seem to be in excellent condition.

-Warmoth tortoise shell pickguard custom cut by me to fit pickups and bridge setup.

-Guitar was strung with D'addario nickel wound 11 gauge strings, had action set to a playable level, and has been intonated.  Truss rod adjusted to have a tiny bit of underbow.  If you prefer 'straight as an arrow' neck, the truss rod is easily adjusted at the side of the neck where it attaches to the body (very cool feature of Warmoth necks).  All work listed above was performed by myself.

II am open to offers so go ahead and make me one if you're interested.  You can achieve some amazing tones with the pickup selections available to this guitar.  I've never quite heard such a beautiful shimmery bright and jangily sound before.  You can also attain some great quacky strat-like tones with both the bridge-middle and neck-middle pickup combinations; wasn't quite expecting that when I was designing this guitar, but nevertheless, you'll be able to experiment all damn day with this thing!

Thanks for checking it out and be sure to check out the rest of my page for future builds!
