This is a Rhodes Mark I Stage 73 with Janus I Stereo Tremolo Amplifier. It is fully restored by The Chicago Electric Piano Co. and equipped with custom silver tolex and a NOS Mark I Flat Top that was sold for the Mark I in the late '70s and early 1980's after the introduction of the Mark II.

We gave this late Mark I, or "pre-Mark II," Rhodes a set of reproduction Fender Rhodes era hammer tips developed by Retro Linear for a hybrid Mark I tone (Click the Sound Sample Below). We did this to bring out the best of both worlds of Mark I tone. You will have the high sustain and balanced harmonics of the late Mark I with the deeper thump of the early Fender Rhodes models. We really love the deep thumping bass of these tips!

The Janus I system is a 100W stereo speaker cabinet that brings out the Rhodes' signature stereo vibrato with two 12" speakers mounted vertically. It is comparable to the Suitcase speaker cabinet and has a sound of its own. This is an ideal setup for someone who is either seeking the rare Janus I sound or for someone that doesn't have a gig-worthy or studio-worthy keyboard amplifier.

Check out the sound samples below and please send us a message with any questions.

Cheers!
