Overview

Don't get it twisted -- this Epiphone Coronet has a solid body, much unlike Epiphone's archtop of the same name. One of the first guitars to be rolled out after Gibson snagged Epiphone, the Coronet snagged a few famous players, like Kurt Cobain and Johnny Marr. Its body shape is pretty unique, but not uncommon for a number of solidbodies released by Epiphone at the time.

The third and final iteration of the original Coronet run saw the Symmetric body replaced by the more familiar Asymmetric design. It also saw a departure from the Gibson-style open book headstock to Epiphone's own "Batwing" 6-in-line headstock design. This later version of the Coronet was also available with a vibrato.
