Product Details

[Store Product Code: 70037]

Its history began in 1894, with electric and acoustic guitars, archtop guitars and mandolins / banjos, and Gibson, an instrument brand that everyone knows today. Jumbo 55 (J-55): The most popular Gibson Jumbo series of flat-top guitars. GIBSON JUMBO announced in 1934 was the first to appear. The specifications of spruce / top, mahogany / side back, 14-fret joint, and round shoulder body were taken over by the JUMBO-35 (J-35), and the Gibson Jumbo 55 (Gibson Jumbo 55) was announced in 1939 as its superior model. J-55). The production period is only 1939-1943, which is a rare gem (the background of that time was the turmoil and turbulence such as the Great Depression that started in 1929 and the World War that was struck by the effects). By the way, this product is made in 1941.

As for the neck condition, there is a slight warp, but considering the age, it can be said that it is almost straight. The string height on the 12th fret is 3mm for the 6th string and about 2.3mm for the 1st string. The height of the saddle is 4.4mm on the 6th string side and 3mm on the 1st string side. According to other ages, crack repair marks (patch repaired) on the top, floating tops, reset and overlacquer on the neck, and retouch marks on the head can be seen. The pegs are firm and astringent with a weather check throughout.

A rare model that became the prototype of the J-45, a powerful and thick sound that can not be thought of being made before the war resonates comfortably ♪ It is very attractive such as a thick and warm treble with high clarity. The neck is a thick neck that feels the times, but it has the impression that it fits in your hand and is easy to play. It's a wonderful guitar that can be used in active duty ♪ Please consider it.
