Mapex Saturn V MH Exotic Drum Sets are made for the professional who wants a set that sounds great, but isn't so expensive that they're afraid to actually take it out on the gig. The large number of toms in the Studioease configuration give you tons of options while playing or when deciding which drums to bring.

These drums feature maple/walnut hybrid shells - maple for its naturally versatile nature, and walnut to help supplement low frequencies for some serious oomph. The bass is made from 8 plies (7.5mm) while the toms are made from 6 plies (5.1mm).

The SONIClear 45-degree bearing edges on every drum are fully rounded on the outside, designed to keep heads from sitting too high like they do on older, thinner bearing edges. This results in more resonance from the shells, giving you a clearer tone with each hit. The sound is fuller and bigger than it would be otherwise.

With SONIClear bearing edges the heads are also able to vibrate more freely, and that means longer decays and the elimination of dead sounds. It's also far easier to tune drums with heads that sit well on the bearing edges, so you don't need to have tuned drums for years to get yours to sound great.

The rack toms are fitted with the SONIClear Suspension System that prevents shell vibrations from being dampened and transferred to tom arm hardware. On the floor toms, SONIClear Floor Tom Feet do the same thing - minimal loss of shell vibration gets lost in the floor.

In keeping with the 'more vibration' theme, all Saturn V MH Exotic bass drums are virgin, keeping your bass as beefy as it can be. Don't worry about setting up the toms, because Mapex has included tom arms and clamps that you can attach to any cymbal stand.

Low-Contact bass drum claws are lightweight and insulated, further enhancing the resonance of the drum - plus they look really cool from the front. Memory-Mark bass drum spurs let you set up in exactly the same position night after night.
