This Sterling (Regal?) Tiple is in very good condition! It has a spruce top,  mahogany neck, back and sides, with a slotted headstock. The reverse tuners indicate that they are original and that this instrument is early 1920's or older. There are no cracks to be found; cosmetically it shows some wear and scratching as would be expected at this age (not too much--just enough to give it a great vintage look). It has an ebony fretboard and nut, and an ebony bridge with a metal saddle. The neck has a very slight but acceptable forward bow with minimal fretwear, and the action is good (7/64" at the fourth string, 12th fret). It has a 1-1/2" nut and a 17" scale, and the body sports black top and back bindings along with a double herringbone purfling and rosette.  Usually tuned in the old ukulele 'D' tuning (B-F#-D-A) and uses uke shaped chord formations. This attractive classic plays beautifully with plenty of volume and a bright, "jangly" tone.
