Sergei de Jonge is a Quebec Canada, based luthier and has earned a great- and worldwide reputation for his amazing steel string- and classical guitars. He is considered one of the most important Canadian guitar makers of this era. His instruments are made with meticulous attention to detail.

This is a top of the line Sergei de Jonge Standard Steelstring. Features Gorgeous Brazilian Rosewood back and sides (with CITES) matched to a Mastergrade European Swiss Spruce top. South American Mahogany neck, and an Ebony fingerboard and bridge. The guitar is finished off with an almost gloss like Shellac French polish Sergei de Jonge style.

Over the years - selling thousands and thousands of quality steel string guitars - i learned it is easy to find a good sounding guitar if you start looking for them. But if you don't accept 'good' as good enough, you have to start digging deep, and digging deeper you find makers like Jakob Poljakoff, James Olson, Kevin Ryan and for instant Sergei de Jonge. Hard to find guitars from maker who make no more than between 10 and 15 guitars a year.  Sergei always delivers his guitars in person, and it's a great joy talking to him about tone and wood and learn from the accomplished guitarmaker he is. Sometimes he even brings his violin for a shop-jam.

This beautiful guitar is detailed to perfection, features a spalted maple rosette and flamed maple bindings matched with multiple rosewood, maple and mahogany binding, alsmost like looking at the detailwork of a Lowden guitar, but they are different, the character is more 'American' although the clarity is unmatched, the Brazilian roseweood peghead veneer is a delight to look at.  The overall sonic impression of the guitar is simply 'overwhelming'. The incredible depth fights with the heavely overtones for attention, and the strong midrange and perfect balance makes this guitar definitely one of the most appealing guitars in our shop. This guitar is 2017 and in like new condition. (example video of Madagascar version)
