We purchased this guitar from a Mostite collector. He purchased it on eBay years ago for $3999. The description on eBay read: this is a prototype Mosrite guitar. The guitar was built by the late great Semie Mosley, there are only two in existence. This particular guitar was made by hand, and presented to the Mosrite distributor for Canada. The guitar was to be the Canadian Mosrite model, unfortunately the model never went into production due to Semies untimely passing. The instrument has a number of features that are unique from most Mosrite models: metallic cranberry red finish, the body is thinner, the neck is rounder, with larger fret wire, has humbucking pickups, figured maple neck, fixed bridge, Mosley tailpiece. The guitar is all original and an altered. A letter of authenticity from the original Canadian distributor, will be included, adding to this instruments Providence.
The letter states that it has humbucker pickups although I can see a row of big magnets through the pickup cover as well as 3 other circles above it.
Guitar plays well and sounds good. Neck is straight and frets are fine. There is some discoloration on the face of the headstock as shown.
